Warning some people may find this video graphic.
Meet Wally, he is a 14yr old Coolie in for a dental. This video will help demonstrate how a scale and polish is performed under a general anaesthesia.
You will notice the dental unit being used is much like you would see when you visit the dentist. In this video you will see the scalar, polisher and three way syringe being used.
The 3-way air water syringe has the ability to select either water or a spearmint mouth wash and a low speed handpiece for polishing. This is also useful instrument for washing away debris from the mouth.
You will see the vet removing hard built on tarter from the tooth surface before polishing begins on some teeth. Plaque can easily be removed with our dental machine however the hard formation of the tater requires removal before effective polishing can be done.
The polishing helps smooth the tooth surface so longevity of the dental is maintained by reducing the surface texture for future build up.
Thanks for watching and please give us a thumbs up :)
