May 16, 2011 - Dogs are not tame wolves. The domestic dog evolved from primitive wolves approximately 14,000 years ago. Dogs exhibit behaviors that wolves do not, and do not display all the same behaviors that wolves do. Vying for dominance in the pack hierarchy is not a priority. Care-taking and teaching of younger pack members by adults is. These training techniques only work because dogs take abuse - wolves and bears need clickers! Bottom line - if we can teach without force, shouldn't we?

May 16, 2011 - @MsLabMom Anyone that uses the words ALPHA and DOG in the same sentence knows nothing about dog training. There is NO SUCH THING. Let me gues - you just repeat things Cesar says. I have said it before and I will keep saying it until the uneducated learn to stop using violence to treat innocent animals - WHY overpower when you can outsmart?!?. You are smarter than that!

May 16, 2011 - @cagedit STOP with the alpha nonsense. It really is nonsense! Just because you get a dog to submit doesn't mean you're an expert. Just because I don't post dog training videos doesn't mean what I say isn't true. Stop treating dogs like wolves. Stop treating them like humans - don't expect them to know right from wrong. Teach! Any idiot with a clicker and a bag of treats can train even the most aggressive of dogs. It takes a true coward to abuse the innocent.

May 16, 2011 - NO dog needs a prong collar. What an idiot. That whole dominance, pack theory, alpha dog, leash correction nonsense is for cowards and bullies and the uneducated. Everyone - do your own research, not on YouTube. The studies that lead to these wolf theories were done with wolves in captivity - were concentration camps good places to study natural human behavior?!? Why overpower when you can outsmart?!?

Feb 13, 2011 - @Lucy360twist Its not about doing anything wrong,he just wants the dog to know its role while on the leash...which is following not leading. You have to be pack leader of your animals or they will not respect you and thats how u end up paying guys like this all your money to train your pet because u have no control and try to treat your dog like kids..THATS WHAT THEY DONT UNDERSTAND! by simulated alpha role,u have no worries, your dog will stay calm n submissive, and you will have a pet u can enjoy

Jan 7, 2011 - This guy is crap, hes tugging the dog when its not doign anythign wrong. BAD

Jeffrey Lemay Says:

Oct 22, 2010 - This guy is correct. If you're going to act offended by how this guy is training the dog the post your own dog training videos. Otherwise stop acting like he's incorrect for having the dog walk behind him. By having the dog walk behind him he is establishing the alpha dog role, and by establishing this role he is demanding respect. @astropo2: I guess your dog walks you, huh?
